Dear Member,
Ever been under-employed, or worse, unemployed?
I have.
It's one of the most miserable and humiliating experiences I've ever had to endure.
And something you never, ever forget.
Even though it was more than 20 years ago, I'll always remember slipping around on an ice-covered footpath on a cold, dark December morning as I walked to the offices of a labor hire company in the center of Aberdeen, Scotland - in the hope of picking up a day's laboring work for the princely sum of £2.50/hr (about $4/hr).
If I was lucky, I would be assigned to one of the many 'pipe yards' around the city, where I would spend the next 8 hours cleaning and 'doping' the threads on drill pipe - a task more mind-numbing than it is hard work.
But I didn't have a choice. Home was on the other side of the world, I was broke and I needed the money to cover my living expenses. And I was only just making it by the skin of my teeth.
There WAS light at the end of the tunnel though. You see, the reason I was broke - and stuck in Aberdeen, was I'd just spent $15,000 - my life's savings at that point, getting qualified as an oilfield diver.
And at that time, a diver working in the North Sea earned a minimum of £200 a day (about $320 a day) - a lot of money back then. "Any day now the phone will ring and I'll be offshore making the "big bucks". Or so I kept telling myself.
After several months of this, I finally figured it out: it was highly unlikely the phone was going to ring. Not because I wasn't good enough. But because there were too few jobs and far too many divers chasing them.
I had just learnt about supply and demand - in the school of harsh reality. And why you DON'T ever want to be skilled at something if the SUPPLY of it exceeds DEMAND for it. A lesson I'll never forget.
But what happened to me next, turned this fact of life to my advantage.
Still broke, I knew I had to get a real job. And by coincidence as much as anything else, I managed to get hired by a local hydraulics shop. I had the right background for this type of work; I'd grown up on a farm, so I had good mechanical aptitude and some exposure to hydraulic equipment. Of course, there was still much to learn. And learn I did.
What's more, I soon discovered that unlike oilfield divers, the demand for skilled hydraulics people EXCEEDED the available supply of them.
Short translation: I would never need to worry about being under-employed or unemployed again. And this has proven to be true in the 22 years since.
If anything, the demand for hydraulics specialists has only increased, while at the same time the supply of them has dwindled.
In fact, according to a report in a recent issue of the International Fluid Power Society newsletter:
And I know from direct communication with many of my 59,672 newsletter members from around the globe, the situation is the same in most other parts of the world - at both degree and trade level.
In other words, it's a GREAT time to be skilled in hydraulics.
The best time to be a nurse is when there's a shortage of nurses. And the best time to be a hydraulics pro is when they're like hen's teeth.
So if you'd like to insulate yourself from unemployment the same way I did - by becoming an in-demand hydraulics specialist, keep reading because…
Rico Santos 'discovered' me just under 3 years ago. Here's a snippet from a message he sent me last week:
"I am congratulating myself just now for getting a pay rise in the middle of an economic downturn. I'm now on my best pay rate ever. Thanks for your continuous kindness in sharing your specialized knowledge. I know you make a difference - not only to my family but also to others who are seeking a genuine teacher."
Rico's success is not unique. While that may sound like a brag, to be honest, Rico's success probably has more to do with him choosing to specialize in hydraulics, than him choosing me as his teacher. However…
Like Rico, if you are to master the art (and science) of hydraulics you WILL need a good teacher. And if you'll forgive me for being brash, me and my colleague, Dr Marian Tumarkin are more than qualified for the job.
Since you already know something about me, let me tell you a little about Dr Tumarkin:
Before he 'defected' to the West from the former Soviet Union, Marian was Associate Professor of Fluid Power and Fluid Mechanics at Kharkov University of Technology. Where, amongst other things, he was involved in research and development of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems for the Soviet Air Force.
After arriving in the West in 1990, Dr Tumarkin quickly established himself as a popular University lecturer and respected consultant to government and private industry.
I have to tell you, Marian Tumarkin is THE smartest guy I've met in the hydraulics business. And I wish someone of his calibre was accessible to me when I started out. A lucky few have been fortunate enough to be taught the trade by such an experienced professional and gifted teacher:
"Brendan, I had the pleasure of being one of Dr Tumarkin's students a couple of years ago at Swinburne University - what a great guy. He's a great teacher and a man who loves his Kalashnikov and a glass of vodka. The University lost a real source of expert knowledge when he left ..."

Former student - Swinburne University
Four years ago, Marian and I teamed up and developed Advanced Hydraulic Control, an advanced-level home-study course on hydraulics. This program has proven to be extremely popular. In the two years since its release, we've sold nearly 1,000 courses.
And I'm quite certain there aren't any teaching institutions around who can boast they've turned out 1,000 advanced-level hydraulics candidates in this same period of time.
Anyway, even before our advanced course was released, we knew there was something missing: we didn't have an entry-level program for those who weren't confident enough in their current level of knowledge to take the advanced course.
But we've fixed this now. Our NEW entry-level hydraulics course, Hydraulics Made Easy is hot off the press.
Hydraulics Made Easy is designed for anyone who:
OR...
This means if you're a:
OR, like I was when I started:
then read on, because Hydraulics Made Easy is for you.
Before I tell you all about Hydraulics Made Easy, let me tell you what it's NOT: It's NOT a text book. And it's NOT a correspondence course. It's a learning SYSTEM that combines printed materials, computer simulation and screen-capture videos.
AND it's choc full of knowledge you can absorb at your own pace, at your convenience, and in the comfort of your own home or office.
Here's just SOME of the topics covered:
| Basic definitions and principles | |
| Computer simulation | |
| Hydraulic system efficiency | |
| Fluid friction and pressure drop | |
| Hydraulic symbols | |
| Reading hydraulic circuit diagrams | |
| Simulation of mobile and industrial hydraulic circuits | |

And even though some of the above are covered in books you may have seen or read...
In fact, it's not really a book at all. Hydraulics Made Easy is unique because it incorporates computer simulation screen-shots and screen-capture videos to enhance your learning.
For example, consider pulsation dampening - which is one of the applications for a hydraulic accumulator:
First we explain the design and function of the component - in this case, a bladder-type accumulator...
Next, we show and explain a simulation screen-shot of the problem (notice the pulsating pressure in BOTH the pump and cylinder)...
Then, we show you a simulation VIDEO explaining how the problem is solved - in this case, by the installation of an accumulator (notice that the accumulator doesn't fix pump pulsation, but it stops it from being transferred to the cylinder).
And this is just one example. You're gonna get a truck-load of knowledge from Hydraulics Made Easy. The kind of knowledge that'll make you the envy of others…
If you DO have solid hydraulics know-how - which isn't as common as you might think, you ARE respected and rewarded. I can think of many occasions over the years when I've been 'put to the test' over a hydraulics problem.
Where others have failed, the expectation is you will too. So think of the look on their faces as they lay the problem out in front of you... fully expecting you to stumble. And how quickly their faces change when you zero in on the cause of the problem.
Their doubt turns to respect. You're always welcome back. You're always sought after. You're always handsomely rewarded.
And if you only ever make one investment in YOUR hydraulics know-how, Hydraulics Made Easy should be it.
So now that you've got an idea of what it covers, and the value of the knowledge you'll gain, let me explain exactly what you get:
Only last month I was talking to one of my Inside Hydraulics newsletter members who has just completed a basic hydraulics course presented by a vocational training provider. So I asked him how much he spent on tuition fees.
He told me it cost him $890, and he went on to explain how lucky he was to have a company vehicle - otherwise he'd have had significant travel expenses on top. As his example shows, you can easily spend $1,000 getting this type of training.
But that's not the end of it. I've done a lot of part-time study while working full-time. And it can be real stressful trying to attend lectures - or worse still, missing them, when you've got urgent work or family issues to deal with.
The foundation of our system is the course written materials (348 pages) organized and presented in 'study guide' format. Revision questions with answers are also included for continuous self-assessment.
Which means you can progress at your own pace, studying at a time and place convenient for you. This removes the stress of trying to juggle work and family commitments. And you save yourself the time and expense of travelling to and from lectures.
To assist and accelerate your learning, you also get 12 videos on CD-ROM. These videos have been prepared and recorded using state-of-the-art computer simulation software and screen-capture video technology. Here's a short clip from one of them covering closed circuit, hydrostatic transmissions (which you may have already watched at the top of this page):
The topic of each video has been carefully selected to reinforce and build upon the key concepts presented in each section of the study guide. Furthermore, the videos are fully integrated into the course written materials, which means you are prompted when to watch each of the videos as you progress through the course.
The total running time of these videos is 129 minutes. And based on what hydraulics training videos with a similar running time sell for - these videos are easily worth $200 on their own.
No doubt about it, Marian Tumarkin is THE smartest hydraulics guy I've ever come across. And I wish someone of his calibre was accessible to me when I started in this business. A lucky few have been fortunate enough to be mentored by such an experienced professional and gifted teacher.
"I had the pleasure of being one of Dr Tumarkin's students a couple of years ago at Swinburne University - what a great guy. He's a great teacher… the University lost a real source of expert knowledge when he left."
Lance Shiells
Former student
And with Hydraulics Made Easy, you get unlimited access to Dr Tumarkin by email. The enormous benefit of having Marian as your mentor, is when you get stuck on something you just can't figure out, there's no need to sweat. Expert help is at hand.
These days Marian doesn't get out of bed for less than $125 per hour - and I don't blame him. As you progress through this program, it's not unreasonable that you'll prevail upon two hours of his time (maybe more) - making this a $250 value.
As you can see already, Hydraulics Made Easy would be an absolute bargain at only $1,000. But I'm NOT asking anything like that - because I want this knowledge to be affordable for as many as possible. And I'm not finished yet ...
As with all my products, the price of Hydraulics Made Easy includes FREE shipping to anywhere in the world - a $40 value. So the price is the same no matter where you live.
This is a brand NEW product and so I want to give it a BIG push out of the starting gate. Which is why, if you're one of the FIRST 49 to respond before I'm going to give you another 15 tutorial videos on CD. These videos have been prepared and recorded using state-of-the-art, computer simulation software and screen-capture video technology.
I recorded these videos for Hydraulics Pro Club, my top-level membership program for the serious student of hydraulics. They cover a range of important hydraulic principles and circuits - which are all relevant to, and expand upon, the contents of Hydraulics Made Easy.
The total running time of theses videos is 241 minutes. And based on what hydraulics training videos with a similar running time sell for - these videos are easily worth $400 by themselves. PLUS--they come with their own, separate 60-page study guide - valued at $37.
AND if you're one of the FIRST 49 to respond before midnight this they're yours - FREE!
So ... I bet you're wondering how much all this knowledge, tools and resources is going to cost you…
First, let me remind you of the guarantee that comes with ALL my products:
You take NO RISK whatsoever by evaluating Hydraulics Made Easy. Because if in the unlikely event you're not absolutely delighted for any reason - or no reason at all, I'll cheerfully refund your entire investment in full. No questions asked.
PLUS - this is a lifetime guarantee. You can return it next month, next year or ten years from now. Golly… what could be fairer than that?
Basic hydraulics training at a vocational institute could set you back $900 (not counting travel expenses and study materials). Then you get 12 simulation videos on CD - worth $200. Plus there's the unlimited question and answer sessions with Dr Marian Tumarkin - another $250 value. Add to this FREE shipping - to anywhere in the world - a $40 value... AND the additional 15 simulation videos on CD, with study-guide - together worth $437, for your fast response, and that comes to $1,827.00 total.
You DO NOT need to pay $1,827.00 to insulate yourself from unemployment and secure a high-paid career like I did, by becoming a hydraulics specialist. I may be crazy, but if you're one of the FIRST 49 to respond before midnight this I'm willing to give all this away to you for ONLY $297.00.
So basically, I just gave you a $1,530.00 discount on what it would cost you if you went out and got all this on your own.
As attractive as this offer is, experience tells me that only about 1 out of every 10 people who receive it will respond. Although that's OK with me from a business standpoint, it still bothers me personally.
You see, I know how much fitters, mechanics, technicians, engineers and hydraulic equipment users will benefit from this knowledge. I read their emails; I talk to them on the phone; I meet them personally at seminars, and hundreds each year tell me that:
"A lack of specialist knowledge is our BIGGEST hydraulics problem."
Because of this, I hate the thought of someone not getting this knowledge because of some error or omission in my explanation. Which is why I've racked my brains to come up with possible reasons that might be holding you back.
Here they are:
"I don't know anything about hydraulics"
You don't need to. Hydraulics Made Easy assumes no prior knowledge. If you DO have some hydraulics knowledge and/or exposure to hydraulic equipment - great, you'll hit the ground running. But it's certainly NOT required.
"My computer skills aren't very good"
The very fact that you're reading this tells me you already have the necessary computer skills for this course. You DO need a computer (PC or Mac) to watch the 27 tutorial videos included with Hydraulics Made Easy. But this only requires dropping a disc into your computer's CD or DVD drive. And my 7-year-old can do that.
"I prefer to work in Metric rather than US units (or vice versa)"
Everything is in both US and Metric units. So where any calculations are explained you get detailed instructions in both US and Metric units. Same goes with the simulation screen shots and videos.
"I'm mainly interested in mobile hydraulic equipment rather than industrial (or vice versa)"
Hydraulics Made Easy covers the components and circuits used in both mobile and industrial hydraulic equipment today.
"I already have a stack of books about hydraulics"
Hydraulics Made Easy is NOT a book. It's a learning system which combines printed materials, computer simulation and screen-capture videos. And besides, you can NEVER have too much information about hydraulics.
"I live beyond Siberia, so shipping will be too expensive"
Worldwide shipping is included, so the price is the same no matter where in the world you live.
"It looks like a great deal, but I'm not sure I can afford it right now"
Let's say for example, you spend 2 hours a week studying this material for 50 weeks - which wouldn't be unreasonable (remember you progress at a pace which suits you). That works out to around six bucks a week. And you don't have to get much of a pay raise to get that back. PLUS - you can spread the investment over three months - with our optional Equalizer Payment Plan.
They say wise men learn from the mistakes of others - instead of their own.
As I explained at the beginning of this letter, there was nothing wise about the way I got into hydraulics. It was only failure in one career that led me to success in another.
Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone to show me the way.
But YOU do.
Learning hydraulics has insulated me from the despair of unemployment for 22 years.
And it's rewarded me with an interesting and high-paid career.
It's been the KEY to my success.
It can be the key to YOURS too.
So start today, with Hydraulics Made Easy.
Yours for better hydraulics knowledge,
Brendan Casey

P.S. It's important to note that Hydraulics Made Easy may be tax deductible. Ask your tax advisor.
P.P.S. If you take any hundred people at the start of their working careers and follow them for 40 years until they reach retirement age, here's what you'll find - according to the Social Security Administration: Only 1 will be wealthy; 4 will be financially secure; 5 will continue working, not because they want to, but because they have to; 36 will be dead; and 54 will be dead broke - dependent on their meager Social Security checks, relatives, even charity for a minimum standard of living. That's 5% successful, 95% unsuccessful. Which group do you wanna be in? Well don't wait any longer, respond now, before the deadline for this special offer expires this (if not before).
